AWS

AWS is where our software lives, and we look after it there.

i-mve, Sharewear, COMPASS and QRPixel all run on AWS. We set up hosting, storage and deployment for the software we build, move older systems onto AWS, and keep them patched and monitored.

How we use AWS

AWS is our default home for the software we build and run.

  1. Daily
  2. Regularly
  3. When it fits

Where it works well

  • SaaS and web apps that need to grow without re-platforming
  • File storage and delivery with S3
  • Managed databases instead of a server you patch yourself
  • Automated deployments and monitoring

Where it breaks down

  • Nobody watches the bill, and idle resources pile up
  • A small site that a simple host would serve for far less
  • A client needs data kept in a specific country’s cloud

What we use instead

  • A simpler hostFor small sites and early prototypes.
  • German-hosted cloudWhat Rezi24 needed for its data rules.
  • Your existing cloudIf you already use another provider, we’ll tell you honestly whether we fit.

You’re probably here because…

What people usually need when they search for AWS help.

Your app runs on a single server and every outage stops the business.

Move to managed AWS services.

Application, database and file storage on AWS, with backups and room to grow.

The AWS bill keeps rising and nobody knows why.

A cost review.

We find idle and oversized resources and cut what isn’t needed.

Deployments are manual and risky.

Automated deployment.

A pipeline that builds, checks and deploys every change the same way.

What we build with AWS

Hosting and infrastructure for the apps we build.

S3 file storage

Uploads, images and documents stored and delivered securely.

Sharewear.

Deployment pipelines

Automated build, test and deploy.

Monitoring and backups

Alerts before users notice, and backups to restore from.

How a build runs

The same steps on every project. You approve designs before we write code.

  1. Day 1

    A 30-minute call

Bring the problem and how you handle it today. We ask questions and tell you honestly what we would build first. We won’t pitch at you.

  2. Next

    Written proposal and fixed quote

What is in scope, what goes on the backlog, the stack we’d use and why, the timeline and one price.

  3. Week 1

    Onboarding

A kick-off meeting, a shared Slack channel and access to the repository. Rehan is your day-to-day contact.

  4. Design

    Designs you approve

We design the main screens and journeys first. Nothing gets coded until you have signed the designs off.

  5. Build

    Architecture first, then code

We agree the architecture before writing code, then build with updates twice a week on Slack. Any new request is logged as extra hours and reported weekly.

  6. Launch

    Live, handed over, supported

Deployed to production with your Git repositories and documentation handed over. Bug fixes are free for the first two months.

What it costs

Real ranges from our own projects. Fixed quote for a build, or a monthly rate for a developer.

Smallest project we take$5,000A tightly scoped build with one core workflow.
Typical project$10,000–$30,000Several user roles, integrations and reporting.
Dedicated engineer$2,500/monthA full-time engineer working on your product.

Included as standard

  • UI/UX design, approved before any code
  • Two-factor login and OWASP Top 10 security practices
  • Deployment to production
  • Git repositories and written documentation
  • Two months of free bug fixes after launch

Not included

  • Payment gateways and other premium integrations, quoted separately
  • Graphic design, video and animation
  • Features added mid-build, logged as extra hours

After the free two months, maintenance is $700 a month. New features are quoted as you need them, or you can have a dedicated engineer from $2,500 a month.

Are we the right team for this?

We’re a good fit if

  • You are building or running a web or SaaS product
  • You want hosting that grows with you
  • You want the AWS account in your name
  • You want someone to keep it running after setup

We’re probably not if

  • Requests for new features get reported as bugs so they don’t count as scope
  • You mainly need graphic design, video or animation
  • The budget is under $5,000

What I love about Team7 is that they always say: No worries, we can find a solution. This is the mindset of builders, creators, people who do not have fear, the partner you need if you want to excel.

Working with Mo and his team over the past year has been nothing short of exceptional. I was admittedly sceptical about investing such a large amount, but results exceeded every expectation.

They are amazing and consistently exceed expectations. They go above and beyond what is asked of them and their communication is top notch, so much so that we joke that they never sleep. The best of the best.

Common questions

Straight answers about AWS, cost and how we work.

Ask us something else
Whose name is the AWS account in?

Yours. The account and the bill stay in your name, and we work with the access you grant.

Are you AWS certified?

No, we hold no certifications. What we have is several production systems on AWS that we set up and still look after.

What happens after launch?

Bug fixes are free for two months. After that, maintenance is $700 a month. New features are quoted as you need them, or you can have a dedicated engineer from $2,500 a month.

Who owns the code?

You do. At handover you get the Git repositories and written documentation. There is nothing tying the software back to us, so you can take it to an in-house team whenever you like.

Who will I talk to, and how often?

Rehan, one of our two founders, is your day-to-day contact. You get updates on Slack twice a week and can see the code in your repository at any time. We split working hours between us to cover US, UK and Australian time zones, and we usually reply within an hour, sometimes the next morning.
