How Time-Zone Overlap Works With a Development Team in Lahore
Working with our Lahore team from the US, UK, EU or Australia: time-zone cover, reply times, how updates work and what happens when something breaks at night.
"How will the time difference work?" is one of the first questions clients in the US, UK, EU and Australia ask us. It's a fair question. We're based in Lahore, Pakistan (PKT, UTC+5), and our clients are spread across very different hours.
Here's how it works in practice, without the sales gloss.
We split the time zones between us
Our two co-founders divide the time zones between them. Rehan handles client contact and covers the hours when our US clients are working, including late at night in Pakistan. That means there's a person available in your working day, not just an inbox.
Our longest client relationships, like i-mve in the UK and our parking client in Australia, have run across these time differences for years.
How fast we reply
Usually within an hour. If your message lands outside our working hours, you'll hear from us the next morning our time. For anything urgent, WhatsApp is quickest.
How updates work
- Slack for day-to-day conversation
- Git for the code, in your repository
- Email for anything formal
- Updates twice a week on Slack, so you always know what's done, what's next and what's blocked
The rhythm matters more than the hours. When updates arrive on a predictable schedule, the time difference stops being noticeable.
Making the difference work for you
A time difference can help:
- You end your day with a question; the answer is there in the morning.
- Work continues while you sleep, so reviews and feedback turn around faster.
- A short overlap each day is enough for a quick call when one is needed.
When something breaks at night
For production issues, there's a person on call for your time zone. Our maintenance clients know who to contact and how.
Tips for working with any remote team
- Agree a regular update rhythm and stick to it
- Write decisions down, in Slack or the ticket, not just on calls
- Keep a short list of priorities so work never stalls waiting for you
- Use the overlap hours for conversations, and the rest for focused work

What are your working hours?
Our team covers US, UK, EU and Australian hours between us. Tell us your time zone on the first call and we'll agree the overlap.
Do you work with US West Coast clients?
Yes. Late-night cover in Pakistan overlaps with the US working day, and our co-founders split the time zones so someone is available.
How quickly do you respond?
Usually within an hour, and the next morning if your message arrives outside our hours.
